🪶 How to Use Sage (Step-by-Step Ritual Manual)

Unwrap a small section
Gently unwrap about 1–2 inches of the sage bundle by loosening the string. Retie the remaining part to keep it together for future use. -
Set your intention
Before lighting the sage, decide what you’re cleansing or inviting.
Example: “I release all negativity from this space and welcome peace & light.” -
Prepare your space
Open a window or door — energy needs somewhere to flow out. -
Light the bundle
Hold the unwrapped end of the bundle over a flame until it catches fire. Blow it out gently so it begins to smolder and release smoke slowly. -
Move mindfully
Wave the smoke through the air using a larhe smudging feather or your hand. Walk clockwise around the room, paying attention to corners, doorways & mirrors.
Cleanse yourself or others!
Pass the smoke gently around your body, from feet to head, visualizing cleansing light.
Do the same around the person you want to clean.
ALTERNATIVLY place the bundle in abalone shell or ceramic/metal bowl on fire/hit proof tray and just let it slowly smolder for 10-15 min. DO NOT leave it unattended! -
Extinguish safely
When you’re done, press the smoldering tip into sand or a fireproof dish, just like putting out a cigarette. Make sure the ember is fully out before storing. -
Reuse for next time
One small bundle can be used several times — simply unwrap a new inch for each ritual. -
End with gratitude
Thank the plant for its help. Spend a quiet moment to feel the change in energy.
